The foundation of the “Casa della Memoria of Urbisaglia ETS”
On Saturday 26 March 2022, the “House of Memory of Urbisaglia ETS” was set up at the Urbisaglia Town Hall.
The ceremony was attended by the founding members, the Mayor of Urbisaglia and the rectors of the Universities of Macerata and Camerino, Prof. Francesco Adornato and Prof. Claudio Pettinari who, after the signing of the Constitutive Act, illustrated the social aims and the meaning of their respective accessions.
The Association intends to promote research on the history of the Urbisaglia internment camp, to reconstruct the events of those who were detained there, aimed at affirming the values of peace, democracy and solidarity, and to pay homage to the victims of fascist repression and to all those who opposed the barbarism of war and racism.
To do this, it intends to activate a series of support actions for historical research and memory such as the digitization of documents concerning the Urbisaglia internment camp, the organization of conferences, the publication of articles and monographs, the establishment of scholarships. study and graduation awards.
During the ceremony, the video messages of Prof. Ugo Volli and dr. Emanuele Viterbo who, after recalling the figure of the grandparents interned in Urbisaglia, communicated their support for the initiative to establish the “House of Memory of Urbisaglia”.
