On April 27, 2023, was inaugurated the “Park of Life”, a new green area of about 6 acres within the territory of the Abbadia di Fiastra Nature Reserve. The initiative, born from the collaboration between the Giustiniani Bandini Foundation and the Carima Foundation, will allow the planting of up to 150 trees that citizens will be able to dedicate to their loved ones.
The first tree was planted symbolically after the ribbon cutting, while other plants had already been planted, including one dedicated to the Internees of the Urbisaglia camp.
«Planting a tree – declared Giuseppe Sposetti, President of the Foundation Giustiniani Bandini and founding member of the Association Casa della Memoria di Urbisaglia – is an important ecological gesture because it allows us to compensate for our environmental impact. It is a look of hope towards tomorrow, a gift of oxygen to future generations that will allow them to continue to live. For our body this aspect is of absolute importance in order to protect the great heritage that has been left to us as a legacy».
«Whoever desires it – explained Rosaria Del Balzo Ruiti, President of the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio della provincia di Macerata – will have the possibility to plant a tree in order to celebrate the miracle of the birth or to remember a beloved person. These trees will thus become natural monuments to the memory, sanctuaries that preach the primordial law of life as Hermann Hesse wrote. It will be possible to put a small plaque with a short dedication that will condense the feelings hidden behind this gift».
